The Singer’s Theatre is an inclusive music theatre training company in Kitchener-Waterloo, dedicated to nurturing emerging singers, actors, designers, technicians, and theatre-makers through professional-calibre musical theatre productions.
For more than two decades, The Singer’s Theatre has provided young and emerging artists with meaningful opportunities to strengthen their craft, build confidence, and experience the full process of bringing a musical to life. Our productions are rooted in excellence, collaboration, and science-informed approaches to voice, music, acting, performance, and stagecraft.
As the first theatre in the region to offer intensive music theatre programs modelled after professional rehearsal standards and schedules, we have proudly produced more than 50 major musicals. Each production is built around an ensemble mentality, encouraging artists to be challenged, uplifted, and inspired while gaining hands-on experience in a supportive rehearsal and performance environment.
At The Singer’s Theatre, production is part of the training. Performers are not only learning how to sing, act, and move; they are learning how to prepare, collaborate, listen, take direction, support an ensemble, and tell powerful stories through music and theatre.
We are fueled by the joy of theatre creation and by the unique connection made with each individual artist. Our work is grounded in the belief that every person deserves to feel seen, heard, respected, and encouraged as they grow.
Our alumni have gone on to perform with The Stratford Festival, The Charlottetown Festival, Mirvish Productions, Broadway, and national tours, while many others have carried their training into community theatre, education, leadership, and lifelong involvement in the arts.
