“Diversity is having a seat at the table, inclusion is having a voice, and belonging is having that voice be heard.”
The Singer’s Theatre is committed to fostering an equitable, diverse, and inclusive environment where all artists, staff, and audience members feel a sense of belonging. We value empathy, dignity, and the celebration of unique experiences, aiming to remove barriers to participation and ensure our creative spaces are safe, respectful, and reflective of our community.
Our Commitment
Inclusive Representation: We strive to ensure our stage, staff, and programming reflect a diversity of cultures, perspectives, abilities and identities.
Equity and Access: We actively work to dismantle systemic barriers, ensuring equitable opportunities for performers and staff, including underrepresented voices in theatre and music.
Safe and Respectful Environment: We promote a culture of kindness and safety, free from harassment or fear of reprisal, where all individuals are empowered to do their best work.
Continuous Learning: We are committed to ongoing education regarding anti-oppression and cultural humility, holding ourselves accountable through active engagement with our community.
We welcome feedback and dialogue to ensure we are constantly evolving to be a more inclusive organization.
Our Bursary Program has served participants in need of financial assistance since 2002. Recipients have gone on to perform professionally around the world. Tuition should never be the deterring factor for participation in theatre training

“Particularly what stood out to me in my first year was how many people there were in the LGBTQ+ community. As someone in the community myself, it felt quite welcoming to know that I was going into a space with many people like myself. And, the program still gave me the opportunity to meet people who were in other communities. Even if my awkward shyness could’ve boxed me into simply going to the people I know every year, I always come out the other side knowing more people as friends than I did to start.
