Junior Ensemble Summer Camp 2010

• Rehearse, build and perform a tailor-written musical!
• Summer Camp: July 12-24, 2010
• 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., Monday to Friday (with Saturday July 25th performances)
• Cost: $420/child (10% discount for each additional sibling) GST included

The Junior Ensemble Musical Theatre Program

Registration is now open for September 2010 auditions.

This nine-month performance training program for aspiring young talents is a perfect fit for any child who loves to perform. Applicants must be in grades 1 to 8, and all will be selected to participate based on a placement audition (see the Auditions page for details). Previous experience is not required.

Junior Ensemble Program Breakdown:

Broadway Babies (Grades 1-3) - Saturday mornings, 10:00-11:30
Characters (Grades 4-6) - Monday evenings, from 5:30-8:00
West Enders (Grades 7-8) - Tuesday evenings, from 6:00-9:00

Term 1: September 13th-December 4th, 2010

A Revue performance in December featuring all performers in large and small production numbers will include solo opportunities for everyone.
Performance dates: December 4th, 2pm and 7pm
The Conrad Centre for the Performing Arts, 32 King St. W., Kitchener

• Voice Component - Private and group voice instruction in technique and interpretation of appropriate musical theatre repertoire.
• Dance Component - Performers will learn choreography for every number, based on personal experience level.
• Acting Component - Workshops in various staging techniques by guest artists.
• Design Component - Performers will design and create their own costumes and sets.

Term 2: January-June 2011

Fully-staged musicals will incorporate all the skills and techniques learned in Term 1, with final performances in June.

• Broadway Babies: $650 Full Year (Term 1 and 2)* - $350 One term only*
• Characters and West Enders: $740 Full Year (Term 1 and 2)* - $395 One term only*

*Please note that priority placement in the Term 2 show will be given to Full Year participants. Prices do not include HST. All terms of the Payment Policies outlined on the Policies page will apply.

About The Junior Ensemble

The Singer's Theatre Junior Ensemble is a group of young singers between the ages of 6 and 13 performing a fully staged musical show. Singers who take part in the Junior Ensemble will commit to a rehearsal period in which they will receive invaluable experience not only in singing, but in acting and other aspects of the theatre. They will learn important vocal techniques and behaviors through private lesson times, as well as how to follow the direction of a stage director and work as a group to create a story on the stage. The following statement made by a parent of a first-time participant of the Junior Ensemble says it all;
